This is a hand woven wool, woven with a twill weave and a fibrous, crumpled texture. These fabrics are made as part of a sustainable and socio-responsible initiative, one that supports and promotes artisanal crafts, in which the process is entirely run & operated by the local women.

Indian Wool Tweed is a unique, traditionally woven fabric in which ever stage is done by hand using local resources. The process generates zero waste, uses zero chemicals, and zero electricity.

These wools are made from the hair Gaddi sheep. The sheep are sheered, and the hair is sorted into colours before being spun on a wheel called a Charkha. These yarns are then woven into fabric lengths on a hand operated loom, are softened through the process of washing with soapnut, and then felted by hand to achieve these dense and crinkled twill wool fabrics.

Samples

Samples are posted 1st Class and shipping is charged at 90p for the UK, £2 for Europe and £3 for the rest of the world. 

Export Duty

If your parcel is being shipped outside the UK you will not be charged VAT, but you will subject to local VAT and import duties. These charges will be applied by your government at the point of delivery, therefor Cloth House is not responsible for any additional taxes and cannot offer any compensation.

We offer a sampling service online and we strongly recommend our customers to order samples in order to check a fabrics suitability, as cut fabric cannot be returned unless faulty.

Other products or vintage items which are not cut fabric may be returned to us if unsuitable.
